Guides to the move's economy
- What does it cost to move? Add up the quotes, the van, double rent and mail forwarding, with the RUT tax deduction subtracted.
- What about home insurance and damages? Home insurance on two addresses and what to do when the relocation company hurts something.
- The removal company damaged something, what do I do? Complain in writing, and report to ARN (the National Board for Consumer Disputes) within one year if the claim is at least 750 kronor.
- What is included in a home insurance, and what happens when I move? Rescuers, liability, protection, assault and travel. The new insurance is valid on both addresses for 14 to 45 days.
- Can I get housing allowance when I move? Young people aged 18 to 28 and families with children are looking for housing allowance at Försäkringskassan (the Swedish Social Insurance Agency), retirees at Pensionsmyndigheten (the Swedish Pensions Agency). Notify the move within 14 days.
- Can I get a move leave and a move allowance? A move allowance is governed by the collective agreement. Employer's move allowance is tax-free when you change workplace.
- Can I get a deduction for double accommodation? Yes, if you moved for work over 50 km and retained the residence: the residence for two years, home trips and 90 kr per day the first month.
Price and deduction for removal company
What the companies charge and how you compare quotes is under what a removal company costs. Which parts of the move give deductions, and how it is stated on the invoice, is under RUT tax deduction when moving. Calculate your own move with the calculator in the guide on what the move costs.
