How long is the notice period for business premises?

Nine months to the next month change, if nothing else has been agreed, and the notice must be in writing. Read your rental agreement first, as a longer notice period may have been agreed. More in the guide on renting and terminating premises.

Where can the moving lorry stand in Gothenburg?

Standing still to load and unload goods is not parking, so you can load on a street with a parking ban but not where it is forbidden to stop. If the lorry needs to stand or drive where local traffic regulations do not allow it, you apply for a dispensation from the City of Gothenburg. The city mentions moving as an example of a special reason, and the fee is 500 kronor per dispensation. If you are going to set up a container, crane or lift, a special permit is required in addition to the exemption, according to Gothenburg. Using public space requires a permit from the Police, and the Police's fee is 990 kronor.

What applies to a large lorry in Gothenburg?

Vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes may not be parked on streets and roads that are public space in Gothenburg between 19:00 and 07:00, unless a sign indicates otherwise. Within Vallgraven and Västra Nordstaden, vehicles longer than 10 metres may only drive between 06:00 and 08:00. An exemption for a heavy transport costs 1,660 kronor. Ask the removal company how they solve it if you are moving in or out of the city centre; that is our advice.

Where does the company dispose of old office furniture and electronics?

Companies can leave household-like waste at Gothenburg's recycling centres with a business ÅVC card. If the company has a waste subscription with Kretslopp och vatten, six free visits per year are included, and from the seventh visit, each visit costs 486 kronor excluding VAT (2026). Without a subscription, each visit costs 486 kronor. You can leave a maximum of 150 kilograms per visit and may not drive in with a car that weighs more than 3.5 tonnes with the load.

Only small businesses can leave electrical waste and hazardous waste at a recycling centre. Other companies are referred to a waste company. Furniture that can be used again can be sold or donated; two of the removal companies below state that they can transport away what is not needed.

Does an office move qualify for the RUT tax deduction?

No. The RUT work must be performed in or in close proximity to a home where the buyer lives, and an office is not a home. The company can instead deduct the cost of moving the business, see deduction for moving costs.
