How long is the notice period for business premises?

Nine months to the next month change, if nothing else has been agreed, and the notice must be in writing. Read your rental agreement first, as a longer notice period may have been agreed. More in the guide on renting and terminating premises.

Where can the moving truck stand in Malmö?

If the truck needs to stand where traffic rules do not otherwise allow it, you can apply for a temporary traffic permit from Malmö City. The city mentions moving work as an example and charges a handling fee of 250 kronor per issued permit. The answer comes within one to two weekdays according to the city. When you load and unload, the work should be carried out without interruption.

If you need to place something on the street or square, a police permit may be required to use public space. The police fee is 990 kronor, and if you get a permit, Malmö city will also charge a rental fee according to the tax.

What applies to a large lorry in Malmö?

Inside the Outer Ring Road, the vehicle may be at most 12 meters long and 3.5 meters wide. Between 10 pm and 6 am, it may weigh at most 3.5 tons there, and those who want to drive heavier must apply for a permit. Malmö's environmental zone also restricts lorries and buses by age and Euro class, and the fines for a too old vehicle are 1,000 kronor. Ask the removal company what vehicle they drive; that's our advice.

Where does the company dispose of old office furniture and electronics?

Companies can use Sysav's recycling centres for households with a customer card and pay for each visit, 300 kronor excluding VAT. The vehicle may weigh at most 3.5 tons. Electrical waste, refrigerators and freezers, appliances, light sources and batteries are not accepted by the centres from companies; the electrical waste is left at Sysav's facility for hazardous waste at a cost. Sysav also has a recycling centre for companies, where sorted waste has a price per ton and a minimum fee of 240 kronor (prices 2026, excluding VAT).

Does an office move qualify for the RUT tax deduction?

No. The RUT work must be performed in or in close proximity to a home where the buyer lives, and an office is not a home. The company can instead deduct the cost of moving the business, see deduction for moving costs.
