What should be done before the inspection?
The home must be empty and cleaned. Book the move-out cleaning so it is finished before any inspection. How the inspection is carried out is decided by the landlord or the buyer, so ask them in good time.
What do I hand back?
All keys, including those for storage, laundry room and mailbox, and any access cards. Count them against what you received when you moved in.
Which papers should I keep?
The invoices from the removal company and the move-out cleaning. The RUT tax deduction should appear on them. Also keep the landlord's confirmation of your notice.

Do the move and the move-out cleaning count towards the same RUT tax deduction?
Yes. Both count towards the same cap, 75,000 kronor per person and year for ROT and RUT together.

What happens if the cleaning is not approved?
Contact the cleaning company and ask for a re-clean under the guarantee. If you sent a request for move-out cleaning via the Gothenburg page, Städly will come back at no cost within 14 days if the inspection does not approve it, according to Städly.

- Photograph every room from two angles and every item of damage up close, with dates in the files (our advice).
- Do the same when you move into the new home (our advice).
- The tenant must take care of the apartment and compensate for damage caused through fault or negligence, also by someone in the household or by someone doing work for them (12 kap. 24 § jordabalken (the Swedish Land Code)). The documentation shows what condition the apartment was in when you left it.

The tenant must look after the apartment well and compensate for damage caused through their fault or through the negligence of someone in the household, guests or anyone doing work for them.

The tax reduction is 50 per cent of the basis for household work under 13 § and may total at most 75,000 kr per tax year, of which at most 50,000 kr for ROT work.
