Recycling centres in Eskilstuna
Everything should be sorted visibly in the containers, so empty the rubbish bags on site. The staff will help you sort but not with heavy lifting or unloading. As a private person, you are not allowed to drive in with a vehicle that weighs over 3.5 tons. Hazardous waste is left in the Environmental Shed, a maximum of 50 kilos per visit. Asbestos is only accepted at Lilla Nyby. At ReTuna, a visit fee is charged for company vehicles during the day on weekdays.

What do you sort where at the recycling centre in Eskilstuna when you are clearing out before the move?
Everything that needs electricity to function, with a cord or batteries, is handed in as electronics. This includes, for example, vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, computers, phones, lamp fixtures and corded tools. Stopped furniture, mattresses, blankets, pillows, carpets, wallpaper and laminate flooring are thrown away as Non-recyclable. This also includes toys and plastic flower pots. Plastic that has packaged a product, such as bubble wrap and foam from a delivery, goes to Plastförpackningar. The bags you have transported the waste in are thrown away as Non-recyclable when they are empty. According to Eskilstuna Energi och Miljö, 70 per cent of what was thrown away as Non-recyclable could have been recycled if it had been sorted correctly.

What do I do with the things that are not coming with me?
Our advice is to sort out what you are not taking with you when you start packing, and take it to a recycling centre before moving day. Then the removal company only carries and drives what is coming along, and the working time gets shorter.
