Step 1: What do the landlords in Malmö say about moving out?

A rental apartment has a notice period of three months to the nearest month end, according to jordabalken (the Swedish Land Code). Here is what the largest landlords in Malmö write about notice, inspection and keys.

Step 2: Which removal companies in Malmö do you recommend?

Step 3: Where do I take bulky waste in Malmö?

Sysav is responsible for the manned recycling centres in Malmö, where you leave bulky waste, electrical waste and hazardous waste. Each adult private person has 26 free visits per calendar year and enters with their driving license or Sysav's app. Sysav does not rent out containers for households' bulky waste. The opening hours change around the holidays, so check them with Sysav before the move.

Sysav has two recycling centres: Bunkeflo and Norra Hamnen.

Step 4: What applies to residential parking when you move in Malmö?

Notify Skatteverket (the Swedish Tax Agency) of the move before you move or at the latest one week after. If you move to a different residential parking area, your permit ends and you register the new address in the city's e-service. If you move within the same area, the permit continues to apply.

Step 5: Can the removal van stand on the street in Malmö?

Malmö stad has no page of its own about a removal van or container on the street. The closest thing is the rules for construction site set-up: public land requires a police permit, the city charges a fee for the land, and processing by the police and the city takes about four weeks. Step 7: What happens at the inspection and key handover?

The last step is handing over the home. Book the move-out cleaning so that it is finished before any inspection, and return all keys. Keep the invoices from the removal company and the move-out cleaning, where the RUT tax deduction should appear. Both deductions count towards the same ceiling of 75,000 kronor per person and year.
