Can I get bulk waste collected in Linköping?

Yes, with the big bag Bjässen. You buy it at the recycling centre: 160 litres for 129 kr, 1,000 litres for 219 kr or 2,000 litres for 299 kr. When it is full, you book a collection, which costs 800 kr in starting fee plus 250, 400 or 550 kr per bag depending on size, and the invoice comes the following month. The crane lorry needs a 3 metre wide road and 4.5 metres of free height above the bag, and the big bag is not suitable for earth and sand.

Where do I leave what can be used again?

All three recycling centres have reuse halls with the same opening hours. What you leave there is collected by Myrorna, Hjärta till hjärta, Stadsmissionen and Hjälpverksamheten Återvinningen, which sell it in their shops. Electronic waste such as TVs, refrigerators and small electronics is sorted separately, and bulky waste must not contain paint cans, batteries or pressure-impregnated wood. The centres are closed on Saturday 31 October, All Saints' Day.

What do I do with the things that are not coming with me?

Our advice is to sort out what you are not taking with you when you start packing, and take it to a recycling centre before moving day. Then the removal company only carries and drives what is coming along, and the working time gets shorter.
