Who can leave waste at the recycling centres in Karlstad?
The recycling centres are paid for by the basic fee in the waste collection tax. If you live or have a holiday home in Karlstad municipality, you pay this fee and can leave bulky household waste, such as furniture, hard plastic, wood, branches, compost and hazardous waste. All recycling centres accept textile waste. If you live in another municipality, Karlstads Energi will refer you to your own municipality's recycling centre. The app Kasta rätt shows what each centre accepts. Companies leave their waste at Djupdalen. A company that leaves waste at Heden or Våxnäs pays 1,500 kronor per visit. Yes, if you announce your visit in advance. If you come with household waste in a light lorry registered to a company, you must announce it on Karlstads Energi's website at least 24 hours in advance. Announcements are only handled on weekdays, so a visit on a Saturday, Sunday, Monday or public holiday must be announced two weekdays in advance. You must be registered in Karlstad or Forshaga municipality, show the confirmation and be able to identify yourself. The visit must be made within two hours of the time you specified. You can make four such visits per year with the same vehicle. Otherwise, the vehicle's owner will be charged according to the tax.

What do I do with the things that are not coming with me?
Our advice is to sort out what you are not taking with you when you start packing, and take it to a recycling centre before moving day. Then the removal company only carries and drives what is coming along, and the working time gets shorter.
