Recycling centres in Sundsvall

MittSverige Vatten & Avfall (MSVA) operates the three manned recycling centres in the municipality. They are only for private individuals, not for businesses. The car with trailer may weigh a maximum of 3.5 tonnes, and the bags you throw away must be transparent. Kretsloppsparken only accepts residents of Sundsvall and Ånge municipalities. There is also a mobile recycling centre.

Does MSVA collect bulky waste in Sundsvall?

You take the bulk waste to a recycling centre yourself. If you live in a house or a summer house in the outer areas of the municipality and have trouble getting there, MSVA collects bulk waste free of charge twice a year. This only applies to certain postcodes, and each area has its own collection weeks, for example weeks 19 and 35 for 862 95 and 862 96. The full list of postcodes and weeks can be found at MSVA.

Is there a mobile recycling centre?

Yes, for places far from the three fixed ones. It is open from 18 to 21. The tours are listed on MSVA's page, and when we read it on 9 October 2026, the schedule applied from May, with stops in, among other places, Norrhassel, Holm, Indal, Liden and Stöde. There you can leave bulk waste, construction waste, garden waste, appliances and hazardous waste such as paint, oil and electrical waste free of charge, but not asbestos, textiles or residual waste. The bags must be transparent.

Where do I leave hazardous waste, furniture and clothes?

Hazardous waste can be left at one of the recycling centres. Asbestos up to 50 kilos is accepted without prior notification; more than that is only accepted from Monday to Thursday, after prior notification at least two days in advance. Electrical waste can also be left free of charge in stores that sell electronics. At Kretsloppsparken, you can donate clothes, furniture and household items to Mitt Secondhand & Biståndscenter and sports and outdoor equipment to Fritidsbanken.

What do I do with the things that are not coming with me?

Our advice is to sort out what you are not taking with you when you start packing, and take it to a recycling centre before moving day. Then the removal company only carries and drives what is coming along, and the working time gets shorter.
